Fall Protection for the Construction Professional

BC Wire Rope and Rigging’s Competent Person in Fall Protection Program is designed for the Construction Professional, usually in a Leadership Role (Superintendent, Safety Manager) tasked with hazard identification and mitigation for the at-Risk Worker at Height. The BC Wire Rope and Rigging Competent Peron in Fall Protection Course is ANSI Z359.2 2007* & Z490.1 2001 Compliant, it is not ‘a Generalist, check the box, speak- from the Power Point’ Instruction. A prerequisite of the Course is Construction Experience (TBD by Employer), previous use of a Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) and a working knowledge of OSHA 1926 Subpart M. Through the blended-learning approach of Self-Study, along with Practical Observation and Participation, the Competent Person in Fall Protection Course Objectives and Certification Requirements can met in (1) One Full Business Day.

Collaborative Curriculum

BC Wire Rope will collaborate with each Safety Department to determine their scope of practice at height, then expand on a curriculum using a customized template.

Certification Testing

Attendees are expected to learn the requisite information & demonstrate proficiency via a minimum passing score of 80% on a written multiple choice exam, then practical observation & demonstration of PFAS Equipment and adult learning methods as it relates to fall protection in order to earn Certification; the pass/fail element of this Program is strictly enforced.
